Isatu Hyde is traditionally trained production potter, using traditional techniques and practices to answer contemporary calls for handmade products that suit modern lifestyles.

At the heart of Isatu’s practice is the CORE collection of tableware and homeware. This collection has a language that is extremely personal to Isatu, but has a quietness and adaptability to fit into any home. All pieces are made by Isatu and, although the root concepts are kept stable, each iteration and batch may differ from the last in terms of mark-making, finish and feel.  It is a collection that will organically develop with Isatu throughout her career and act as a mainstay and demonstration of her practice, both in terms of principles of form and manual proficiency.

Alongside the CORE range, Isatu engages in exhibitions, one-off pieces, personal collections and events. Specialised work is created against a more design-led brief or as response to personal inspiration. At the centre of all work from Isatu, lies grounding themes of use, ceremony, and expression and refinement found within limitation.
