A self-led project undertaken during a residency at The Committee of Taste Cafe in Gladstone Park, London. I developed a range of pots that were thrown on the wheel, using a clay body that is traditionally coiled (hand built). This particular clay has added Mica (the sparkly silver flecks) that allows it to be heat resistant, even over an open flame. Show above is a 'Chocolate Pot' for slow simmering Mexican hot chocolate on the stove top.
An on-going collaboration with Victoria May Harrsion of Toro Studio, Falmouth. These succulent planters and cache pots were made and fired at The Marches Pottery, featuring heavy faceting (cutting the turned pot after throwing and drying a little) and soft green celadon glazes with treacle black Tenmoku to contrast. Available to purchase exclusively at Toro Studio
The drink series, arisen from a studio visit and conversation whilst I was working at The Marches Pottery in Ludlow. To find out more and to purchase items, please visit the Midgley Green site.
